Greensboro Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is a public advisory board and its purpose is to review and advise the Selectboard on public and private activities involving the physical, social, and economic development of the town and to review and make a comprehensive long-range plan for the development of the town (view the Town Plans). The Commission also reviews and advises the Selectboard on the creation and revision of town bylaws (view the Zoning By-Laws).

Updates from the GPC

Shoreland Protection District Bylaws and other Miscellaneous Amendments:

The GPC will hold a Public Hearing about proposed amendments to the Shoreland Protection District Bylaws and other items on April 28, 2026 in our Town Hall Meeting Room with a subsequent Selectboard public hearing thereafter. New Flood and River Corridor Bylaws: The GPC has completed writing and has approved the final Flood and River Corridor bylaw amendments and brought them to the public in a public hearing on March 10, 2026. Now they will go to the Selectboard for their review, approval and their public hearing. Materials can be found at Flood&River Corridor Public Hearing Materials.

Ongoing and Future GPC Work:

1. Preparing the draft of the new Town Plan.
2. Preparing for GPC Public Hearings around proposed amended bylaws.(See above.)
3. Evaluating areas of our current bylaws which will need updating after finalizing the new Town Plan.

Meetings & Agendas

Hybrid meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at the Greensboro Town Hall Meeting Room and on Zoom. Typically, meetings start at 5 PM. Please check the town calendar for a specific time.
