The Planning Commission is a public advisory board and its purpose is to review and advise the Selectboard on public and private activities involving the physical, social, and economic development of the town and to review and make a comprehensive long-range plan for the development of the town (view the Town Plans). The Commission also reviews and advises the Selectboard on the creation and revision of town bylaws (view the Zoning By-Laws).
Latest Updates from the GPC
proposed bylaw changes-October, 2024
- At their February 2024 meeting, the Greensboro Planning Commission approved the proposed Miscellaneous and Shoreland Protection District Bylaw Amendments, which incorporated changes recommended by members of the public at the October 2023 GPC Public Hearing. These amendments were submitted to the Greensboro Selectboard on March 13, 2024, for their review.
- The Selectboard held a Public Hearing on July 25, 2024, on the proposed Miscellaneous Bylaw Amendments. Link to Miscellaneous Bylaw Amendment materials here.
- The Planning Commission continues to work with the Selectboard on the proposed Miscellaneous and Shoreland Protection District Bylaw amendments. No further Public Hearings have been scheduled at this time.
- Greensboro community members are encouraged to review the proposed amendments and to stay tuned for future scheduled Public Hearings. Link to SPD bylaw materials here.
