Location: 2875 Hardwick Street, Greensboro, VT
The National Weather Service is forecasting heat index values exceeding 100°F due to high temperatures and humidity. These conditions can quickly become life-threatening, especially for individuals at higher risk of heat-related illness.
A Cooling Center will be open to provide relief:
- Air-conditioned spaces
- Water and restroom access. Please bring your own water bottles if you have them.
- Seating and quiet areas
- Entertainment games, sprinklers and movies for families
- Staffed by volunteers and health partners
Recommended for:
- Older adults
- Infants and young children
- People with chronic health conditions
- Households without air conditioning
- Anyone seeking relief from the heat

- Service animals and pets permitted on leash or in kennel and Rabies vaccine
- Wi-Fi and phone charging available

Signs of heat stroke may include:
- High body temperature (103°F or higher)
- Hot, red, dry, or damp skin
- Rapid and strong pulse
- Headache
- Dizziness or confusion
- Nausea
- Loss of consciousness
Heat stroke is a medical emergency.
- Call 911 and move to a cooler location while waiting for help.
