The Planning Commission is a public advisory board and its purpose is to review and advise the Selectboard on public and private activities involving the physical, social, and economic development of the town and to review and make a comprehensive long-range plan for the development of the town (view the Town Plans). The Commission also reviews and advises the Selectboard on the creation and revision of town bylaws (view the Zoning By-Laws).

Latest Updates from the GPC
Public Hearing on bylaw changes
- At their February 2024 meeting, the Greensboro Planning Commission approved the proposed Miscellaneous and Shoreland Protection District Bylaw Amendments, which were presented to the public at the October 17, 2023, GPC Public Hearing and which were then fine-tuned to respond to Public Hearing comments.
- The GPC-approved, proposed amendments were delivered to the Greensboro Select Board on March 13, 2024, for their review. They shall also hold a Public Meeting about them.
- Greensboro community members are encouraged to review the proposed amendments and to stay tuned for when the Select Board schedules their Public Hearing. Link to bylaw materials here
