AUSTRALIAN BALLOT NOTIFICATION
FOR TOWN MEETING
MARCH 3, 2026
With the switch to Australian ballot voting for the election of officers, as approved by the voters at Town Meeting 2025, all candidates for elected office must submit petitions containing 7 signatures (30 signatures or 1% of the legal voters, whichever is less) by 5 pm on Monday, January 26th, 2026. 17 V.S.A. § 2681.
The following offices are up for election:
Moderator – 1-year term
Town Clerk – 3-year term
Selectboard Member – 3-year term
Selectboard Member – 2-year term
Collector of Delinquent Taxes – 1-year term
Cemetery Commissioner – 3-year term
Library Trustee – 3-year term
Library Trustee – 3-year term
Besides the Petition, the candidate must sign the Consent of Candidate giving permission for the name to be printed on the Ballot. Both forms are below.
