Greensboro Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is a public advisory board and its purpose is to review and advise the Selectboard on public and private activities involving the physical, social, and economic development of the town and to review and make a comprehensive long-range plan for the development of the town (view the Town Plans). The Commission also reviews and advises the Selectboard on the creation and revision of town bylaws (view the Zoning By-Laws).

What your GPC is working on now:

1. Communicating with the town about their already existing PUD and ADU bylaws;
2. Collating survey results and planning for upcoming community meetings;
3. Evaluating current Flood Bylaws and updating them to meet new FEMA standards so all Greensboro community members can continue to be eligible for flood insurance access via NFIP, and the Town can apply for FEMA grants if necessary.

2024 Town Survey Next Steps:

Thank you Greensboro community—your Planning Commission has received nearly 250 responses to the Town Survey!  We have started a review of the results and plan to have a summary report to deliver soon.  We will post this report on the GPC webpage of the Town of Greensboro’s website as soon as it is ready.

• In December we will present a written summary document of the survey findings for the community so everyone can become familiar with them. 
• In January 2025 we will invite everyone to Community Forums where we can review and discuss the findings together, listening to community feedback.  
• In February 2025 we plan to host more detailed Focus Group Meetings on the key topic areas that came up in the Survey.  

Even if you were not able to complete the Survey, we welcome you to these meetings so we can listen to each others’  ideas on how we can move forward together.

Proposed bylaw changes-October, 2024

The Selectboard voted to approve the Miscellaneous Bylaw Amendments in their October, 2024 meeting.  Link to Miscellaneous Bylaw Amendment materials here.

The Selectboard did not review the Shoreland Protection District Proposed Amendments and told the Planning Commission to resubmit them along with the new proposed Flood Bylaw amendments at which time they will hold a Public Hearing on both.
