The Commission also reviews and advises the Selectboard on the creation and revision of town bylaws (view the Zoning By-Laws).

Latest Updates from the GPC

2024 Town Survey and Community Conversations:

What your GPC is working on now:

  1. Communicating with the town about their already existing PUD and ADU bylaws;
  2. Reviewing Survey and Conversation results to share relevant items with applicable town committees and commissions;
  3. Evaluating current Flood Bylaws and updating them to meet new FEMA standards so all Greensboro community members can continue to be eligible for flood insurance access via NFIP, and the Town can apply for FEMA grants if necessary.
  4. Planning for a September Community Conversation about town zoning regulations.
  5. Applying for a Municipal Planning Grant to support inquiry into our local land use policies.

Proposed bylaw changes:

The GPC hopes to hold a public hearing about proposed amendments to the Flood bylaws, the Shoreland Protection District bylaws and sundry miscellaneous items in 2025. Greensboro community members are encouraged to stay tuned for future scheduled Public Hearings.  Link to SPD bylaw materials here.

Housing Sub-Committee: The link to the 2024 Housing Sub-Committee materials can be found here.
